My Story
I grew up in Las Vegas, NV, and graduated from Foothill High School in 2017. Despite the financial challenges I faced as a first-generation student, I had a strong desire for higher education. It was the only goal I imagined for myself in life. Eight months after graduation, I enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard, driven by my commitment to leave the desert and to pursue my educational goals. After two years of service, I began taking college classes at Arizona State University after becoming a fully qualified deckhand on the USCGC Sea Devil (WPB 87368). I pursued a career in public affairs and my time in public affairs and school has prepared me to be a skilled emergency manager and communicator. I have experience in emergency communications and media relations for high profile cases such as the Lahaina Maui Fire, Lewiston Bowling Alley Incident and the Titan Submersible incident that took the world by storm in Summer 2023.
